10. Operation: Galactic Storm
When the Kree and Shi’ar went to war, Earth was caught in the middle. This was definitely a time for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to come together with a few extra super-powered allies. For this event, the classic Avengers lineup brought in some assistance from the West Coast Avengers to handle this intergalactic conflict.
9. Thanos Quest
Thanos set a high bar for himself when he challenged the Elders of the Universe to collect all six Infinity Gems to impress his love, Death. Each gem would grant Thanos unimaginable power – was there anyone who could stop him from accomplishing this dreadful task?
8. Acts of Vengeance
Loki convinces the biggest foes of the biggest heroes to switch their targets in an event that included the Avengers, the X-Men, and cosmic characters too! Find the issues on Marvel Unlimited to see who the Red Skull, Kingpin, and more went after instead of the usual thorns in their sides!
7. Onslaught
With great power comes… great evil? Professor X houses a massive amount of mutant power, but not all power is purely good. When his malevolent side merges with Magneto’s equally excellent power, it gives rise to Onslaught, one of the greatest threats to the entire Marvel Universe! In addition to the X-Men, the Fantastic Four enter this fray, plus a couple of Avengers including Captain America and the Hulk.
6. The Second Clone Saga
Some classic Spider-Man standbys show up in the Clone Saga of the 1990s – Gwen Stacy, Venom, Doctor Octopus, and Mary Jane Watson… but this event also marks the re-introduction of Ben Reilly AKA Scarlet Spider, the clone created by Miles Warren whom Peter Parker (the original) was forced to fight. When he resurfaced, he had his own name. The Jackal – the villainous alter ego of Warren – also returns from the original saga to wreak more clone havoc on Spidey.
5. Maximum Carnage
It’s a symbiote smashup as Spider-Man and Venom join forces to stop Carnage AKA Cletus Kasady and his Super Villain rampage! More Marvel heroes come along for the ride because frankly, Spidey needs as much help as he can get – Captain America, Morbius, Cloak and Dagger, and Iron Fist are among the helping hands.
4. X-Cutioner’s Song
When Stryfe – disguised as Cable – launches an assassination attempt on Professor X, X-groups across the board have to get in on the action to stop Stryfe and Mr. Sinister, and find a cure to the techno-organic virus that is killing Professor X.
3. X-Tinction Agenda
Cyborg Cameron Hodge and the nation of Genosha want mutantkind to answer for their crimes. Genoshan forces attack Professor X’s school, kidnap Storm and the New Mutants to force them into slavery. The X-Men and X-Factor come together to stop the anti-mutant nation.
2. Age of Apocalypse
When the X-Men find out that Apocalypse and his forces rule over a darker, alternate timeline, they battle against the eternal mutant to make things right. Meanwhile, Legion is on a mission to kill off all the enemies of his father, Charles Xavier – but then he goes after Magneto…
1. Infinity Gauntlet
The Avengers go cosmic again to stop the Mad Titan from carrying out his power-mad plans after he seizes control of the Infinity Gauntlet and all six Infinity Gems. After he snaps half the universe out of existence, Adam Warlock calls on the Avengers to stop Thanos and his daughter Nebula after she steals the Gauntlet.
