Paul Scheer Is All in on 'Brute Force' on This Week in Marvel
The comedian and 'Marvel's 616' director talks about his episode, "Lost and Found"!
There are thousands of characters in the Marvel Universe and even more stories told about them in the more than eight decades since Marvel started making comic books. Some have become classics and icons, some have... remained a bit more hidden. This is where comedian Paul Scheer comes in. Scheer, who directed the "Lost and Found" episode of Marvel's 616, streaming exclusively on Disney+, made a mission out of unearthing 1990's BRUTE FORCE, a cult-favorite series that was just begging for its time in the spotlight. On the latest episode of This Week in Marvel, Scheer talks to Ryan "Agent M" Penagos, Lorraine Cink, and James Monroe Iglehart about the characters and stories he uncovered on his episode of the Marvel documentary series.
Here's a bit of what Scheer had to say:
“I like the side characters. I want to see more of the Damage Control. I want to see more of Mockingbird. I want to see more of the characters that don’t get that much play. ... [I]t was fun to come up with, like, Eminem teaming up with the Punisher. I don’t know how many people remember that… then it was Billy Ray Cyrus, Time Traveling Knight, but also Billy Ray Cyrus.”
Plus: A Jack Kirby Easter egg in Disney-Pixar’s Soul, the adventures awaiting Squirrel Girl, Ms. Marvel, and Miles Morales in the upcoming Avengers Assembly: The Sinister Substitute, and much more!
