After being exposed to radiation from a mysterious gaseous entity that appeared to be a tiny comet, Harris mutagenically transformed, giving him superhuman powers, which he used as a costumed crime-fighter. Decades later, he went to Xandar to aid its people in their war against the Skrulls, and after his son died, chose to remain there. The Comet died in battling the forces of Nebula.
