Biography

Biography

After being liberated from his crazy creator, Jeff the Land Shark joins the West Coast Avengers (WCA) thanks to Gwenpool seeing the little lost shark in desperate need of a new home. Jeff teams up with the WCA and while he acts like a pet, he is much more than that, often helping heroes save the day.

Swimming with Sharks

Jeff is one of many other Land Sharks who were created and experimented upon by M.O.D.O.K., then calling himself B.R.O.D.O.K., to attack Santa Monica. But when and the WCA saved the day, their member Gwenpool sees Jeff abandoned and looking ever-so sweet, she adopts him despite her team’s reservations.

Armed to the Teeth

As a Land Shark, Jeff possesses legs and the ability to breathe air, so he can be a fish out of water without too many issues. He is also equipped with sharp teeth that he uses against his opponents.

Fishy Foes

After M.O.D.O.K. rebrands himself as B.R.O.D.O.K., he creates numerous Land Sharks, including Jeff, to attack Santa Monica in an effort to take revenge against all the women that had previously rejected him. But Jeff escapes his clutches when Gwenpool adopts him.

Jeff grows close with Gwenpool and becomes very concerned when she goes up against Bruce Banner, AKA Hulk.

After Jeff meets Smash Smash, an electrically-charged Kaiju, he is instantly in love but the relationship is cut short when Smash Smash eats Jeff. Jeff eats his way out though and survived the ordeal.

Jeff tricks the X-Men while helping his ally Wade Wilson, AKA Deadpool, who were not kind to either of them upon their visit to the sovereign mutant nation-state of Krakoa.

Fishing for Friends

Jeff gains an ally in Gwenpool the day she saves him from the terrible B.R.O.D.O.K. and his schemes. She adopts him and he soon becomes an official member of her Super Hero team, the WCA, sitting in at official meetings. He also takes a liking to WCA member Quentin Quire, AKA Kid Omega.

He is also taken in and protected by monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone and Deadpool, the King of Monster Island. Jeff often warns his friends about danger, helps them out of sticky situations, and cheers them up when they’re down.

A Land Shark’s Tale

Jeff often tags along with his friends and joins the West Coast Avengers during their meetings. When Gwenpool dated Kid Omega, Jeff took a liking to him and sat on his lap for a photo-op—or maybe he was just interested in being on camera.

After an incident in another dimension, Gwenpool and Jeff were de-aged, among other heroes, and in the care of Elsa Bloodstone. Not long afterward, Gwenpool battled the Hulk as Jeff watched from a viewing box, and he became quite worried about her, though she defeated the gamma-powered monster. After Gwenpool doubted she would have another solo comic, she handed the loveable shark over to Deadpool, who took on the responsibility to care for him.

Jeff takes it upon himself to cheer up his friends when they’re sad, such as Deadpool, and takes him on a walk. Jeff led Deadpool to a costume shop where he encouraged him to dress up as Gwenpool and it lifted his spirits.

After Jeff met Smash Smash, a giant electrically-charged monster from Sweden that also swims, he fell in love. Though Jeff became shark food ending their relationship. Despite losing his new friend, he survived to his allies Elsa Bloodstone and Deadpool’s relief.

Jeff joined Deadpool to visit the X-Men on the island of Krakoa, but the X-Men were not accepting any visitors. Deadpool threatened to take a Krakoa flower, a precious commodity to the mutants which resulted in a battle between the X-Men and Deadpool. Jeff saw an opportunity to take a flower amidst the commotion and gave it to Deadpool when they were in the arms of safety.

When the ancient, evil space god Knull, God of the Symbiotes, (related to the symbiote Venom) attacks Earth, Deadpool assembled a team: the Monster King’s Honor Guard, which included Jeff. When they faced off with the Symbiote Hive which took the form of a dragon, Jeff snapped his teeth around the enemy but it took him over completely and he became mean. Totally out of control, he bit a chunk out of Deadpool’s arm, so Deadpool hacked off his arm before the symbiote could spread. Meanwhile, the mutant Jelby contained Jeff in a bubble made from his body. After Jelby helped contain the symbiote dragon in a similar manner, Deadpool and his allies blasted the symbiote out of Jeff using music and he was restored to normal.
