For over 50 years, Spider-Man has been a sensational standout in the Marvel Universe, and this year, the web-slinger swings onto the silver screen once more in “Spider-Man: Homecoming”! In celebration of his memorable history, we present Spidey’s spectacular step-by-step story!

Spider-man, the Punisher, Moon Knight, Nova, Darkhawk, and Night Thrasher brought an end to their war with the Secret Empire in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #357 and with the Seekers in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #358. Later, the webslinger searched for Harry Osborn in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #184, and teamed with Frog-Man and Leap-Frog in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #185 to take the bounce out of the White Rabbit.

The Kingpin’s son Richard forged an alliance with the new Rose in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #84, and sent the Triad Brothers to kill Peter Parker in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #85. The Demogoblin broke away from Hobgoblin in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #86 to battle Spidey, and Richard Fisk broke his partnership with the Rose in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #87. Yet another new Rose grew upon the death of the former in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #88, and christened himself Blood Rose to clash with the strange pairing of Spider-Man and Hobgoblin in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #89.

The Sinister Six craved revenge on Doctor Octopus in SPIDER-MAN #18, prompting the wallcrawler and the Hulk to look into the matter in SPIDER-MAN #19, The duo received more help against the villain team from Nova, Deathlok, and Solo in SPIDER-MAN #20 and SPIDER-MAN #21, but the addition of Gog to the Sinister Six in SPIDER-MAN #22 demanded the addition of the Fantastic Four to the heroes’ ranks to bring it all down in SPIDER-MAN #23.

Cardiac returned in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #359 to clean up corrupt businessmen, a task that Spidey lent a hand or two to in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #360. Carnage made himself fully known to the hero in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #361, Spidey and the Human Torch asked Venom for help to fight his “child” in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #362, and together the webslinger and the symbiote saved J. Jonah Jameson from Carnage’s wrath in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #363.

A dying Vulture attempted to take others with him into death in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #186, kidnapped Aunt May in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #187, and entered into a high-flying fight with Spidey in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #188. Afterward, the webbed wonder threw down with Harry Osborn as the Green Goblin in a Battle Royale in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #189. Mysterio’s newest mind tricks almost convinced Peter he never became a super hero in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #90, while Betty Leeds faced the Foreigner’s Death Squad in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #91 and WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #92. The Foreigner also targeted Moon Knight in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #93.

Hobgoblin clashed with Demogoblin in SPIDER-MAN #24, Arcade attacked Spidey and Excalibur in SPIDER-MAN #25, and the hero contemplated his origin in SPIDER-MAN #26. A more powerful Shocker zapped his way through AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #364, Peter Parker’s supposedly dead parents reappeared in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #365, the Red Skull seemed to be behind it all in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #366, and Solo offered the wallcrawler aid against him and the Taskmaster in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #367.

After the Rhino nearly crushed Spidey in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #190, the webslinger faced off once more against the Puma in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #191, with the added attraction of Black Crow in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #192 and SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #193. Both Venom and Demogoblin found freedom in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #94, and Spidey and Hobgoblin teamed up again against the demonic entity in WEB OF SPIDER-MAN #95.

Illegal guns made their way onto the streets in SPIDER-MAN #27, prompting swift Spider-Man action in SPIDER-MAN #28, and the Mad Dogs reared their ugly heads again in SPIDER-MAN #29. A new crop of Spider-Slayers appeared in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #368, made all the more complicated for our hero by Electro in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #369, the Scorpion in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #370, and the Black Cat in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #371.

Vermin crawled up out of his sewer in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #194 to further confound and confuse Spidey in SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN #195.
